How do I cover my zits when my skin is so flaky?

I am on my third week of accutane so my skin is really dry. Whenever I try to cover my zits with coverup they dry up and get really flaky. I hate walking around with skin flaking off my face. I don't know what to do.How do I cover my zits when my skin is so flaky?
I was on Accutane before, so I understand what you're going through. The flaky skin sucks, but hang in there, it did wonders for me! Anyway, to address your problem, I would recommend that in the morning, when you wash your face, try to very gently slough off some flakes with a cleansing sponge (I use this washing puff from DHC: http://www.dhccare.com/DHC/ProductDetail鈥?/a> Don't scrub too hard, that will irritate your already sensitive skin. You want to just try to get rid of as much as you can so you have a smooth surface for make up.

Then quickly put on a moisturizer for sensitive skin (preferably with sunscreen, since you are on the Accutane--try Eucerin's, it's not expensive and it doesn't irritate raw skin). Moisture is important to your skin right now. BTW If the Accutane is also giving you cracked lips, Aquaphor is a lifesaver!

After you're moisturized, then apply concealer or make up of choice. I highly recommend mineral make up, it has never broken me out. You can use any brand, but personally I think Bare Escentuals is overpriced (but if you do use them, I suggest the multi-purpose concealer). I prefer Everyday Minerals, and they have free samples (just check their website: www.everydayminerals.com). Anyway, the reason I like mineral make up is I just pick up a small amount on a concealer brush and apply it right on top of just the area I want, then blend out the edges with small strokes. I find it looks more natural than most stick or cream concealers.

I hope that helps you. Hang in there, just remember when your skin is clearer you won't have to worry so much about covering up blemishes! Good luck. How do I cover my zits when my skin is so flaky?
You really shouldn't cover your acne with anything it can cause more blemishes. Your skin needs to breath. I have what is known as adult acne I had clear skin until I turned 20 then I freaked and tried anything and everything I could to cover them. Doesn't work makeup blocks pores causing more breakouts. The only makeup out there that truly works and it's costly is Bare Minerals get it at bareminerals.com

Good Luck from someone who has been there.
Always keep a good moisturizer close or in a purse. One very good one I suggest is the one from clinique. It moisturizes but does not make your face oily.

Then I use a liquid foundation from clinque that works great and covers up EVERYTHING!

There you go!!
Slightly abrasive scrubs are a blessing, followed up with a good non-oil based lotion. St Ive's makes a good scrub I have had success with.
Ask your doctor if it's okay to use a facial scrub and moisturizer with Alpha hydroxy acids.
